Sprint Palm Treo Can you take a Palm Treo 700wx from Sprint, do an ESN change on Verizons website and have it work?
My friend has a 700WX which he used on the Sprint network. I want to buy it from him and register it on Verizons network. If I log on to Verizons website, I see a place where I can activate a new ESN. If I activate the 700wx on Verizons site, will it work? Thanks in advance!
No it won't work, yet. Currently CDMA phones (Sprint & Verizon) are hard programmed to work only for their carriers.
Earlier this year both Sprint and Verizon announced that in 2008 they will allow phones from other carriers to work on their system. But they didn't announce what quarter. So for now you have to wait .

I am very ignorant about PDAs and POCKET PCs and would like some ideas/advice. I want a small computer type device that will run Excel, Access (or some form of a database), and compiled Visual Basic programs. the dell is a good bit of kit i have the axim x51v which has the higher resolution vga screen as opposed to the more usual qvga screens of lesser machines unfortunately i think dell has now bowed out of the pda market a real shame!

Unlocked Smartphone Pda Can I get an AT&T Cellphone plan without Contract by using my own Cellphone?
I need the AT&T 450minutes/month Cellphone contract that costs $39.99. I find that the contract comes with a Phone bundled along with it. I would prefer using my own unlocked phone. For using my own cellphone can I get a monthly discount on the $39.99 plan Charges? I do not want to use a prepaid service like GoPhone.
The reason I would like to do this is that I want to use a PDA Cellphone . If I get a PDA Cellphone from AT&T then they force me to pay for a data plan as well which starts at $30/month in addition to the Call Plan Charges. Is there some way I can avoid the Data Plan Charges but still use a PDA Cellphone (or Smartphone)?
the only way around it would be the $99.99 unlimited voice plan, there is no contract required for that one.
As far as using a PDA phone .. you can always remove the PDA plan if not using it., the only phone that requires a plan would be the iPhone. If you go to the store and they instist it must be there put it on.. and then either sign into your my wireless account or call customer care and ask to have it removed.
If your going to be texting and getting on the internet I strongly recomend a plan to avoid a high bill.
