Used Slider Cell What kind of cell phone would this be?
I saw a girl using this neat looking cell phone. It was like a slider, but instead of the top part just going up, it went sideways so the screen would look wider than long, and she still used the regular phone buttons, not the QWERTY type. So basically it looked like a T when she opened it. Any idea what kind of phone that would be and which company sells it [T-mobile, AT&T, etc.]

For everything you only pay 99.99 since there is no additional mail in rebate listed. Also if you want the internet you would have to pay separately for the data package for the blackberry which usually runs around $30 per month. Other than that its your regular voice plan and any other features currently on your account (i.e. text messaging).

During a recent Mafia case, it came out that the FBI has been approved to monitor people via their cell phones. No, not just picking up the conversation via traditional tech. They NOW have the ability to activate (turn on) your cell phone from another location, and listen to conversations around you at tables, in your home, where you work, as long as you have the battery in the phone. Your phone doesn't have to be on, they don't have to notify you, and they can listen to everything you're saying. It's also admissable in court.
They are also able to use the Onstar system in vehicles to listen to conversations in cars.
NEXTEL has said they were not asked, and did not contribute to the technology. Nokia phones are among those easiest to do this with.
My question, do you think this is fine, as long as they are trying to catch "bad guys", or does this blow your mind that you can't even get in your car without worrying about your navigational gizmo being a microphone?

I am taking my iPhone with me on a cruise to Mexico. I would use airplane mode to avoid unexpected expensive charges but I want to have my phone available and texting incase someone urgently needs to call me. My worst fear is accidentally hitting the Safari button and getting charged $15 to see the Google logo. How can I turn my Edge network on, but enable WiFi? And what about e-mail?

Also you will need to have roaming enabled to use your phone down in Mexico. Keep in mind on the cruise ship its going to be billed at about $2.79 per min .. if you use your phone and also if your phone is on and it rings and goes to voicemail , you will be charged for 1 min. since it takes longer than a minute to send the message thru due to the roaming. Key is to keep your phone off unless needed, but really call customer care so they can help and you dont get that huge unwanted bill or get down there and find you cant use your phone at all!
